1. 拖累;牽累;妨礙 If you are encumbered by something, it prevents you from moving freely or doing what you want.
e.g. Lead weights and air cylinders encumbered the divers as they walked to the shore... 潛水員向海岸走去時(shí),鉛墜和氧氣罐使他們步履維艱。 e.g. It is still labouring under the debt burden that it was encumbered with in the 1980s. 它現在仍舊被20世紀80年代就深受其累的債務(wù)壓得喘不過(guò)氣。
